Drafting your Digi pack, poster or Website

What Needs to be done ASAP.

You need to get your own blogs set up as soon as possible and let me have the web addresses for them.
Once you have set your blog up to get all of your research work from this year up on it as soon as possible.


Ive paste'd in the OCR top band mark criteria below, I'm going to add in some annotations in italics to show how you can ensure that you meet all of the exam criteria.

Mark Criteria for your practical task

Level 4 16–20 marks

There is excellent research into similar products and a potential target audience.
this will include all the work you have done before christmas with me and Mr Smith. Also last weeks home work task will help meet the requirements of this part of the course. you MUST keep talking about audiences and how they are being targetted.

There is excellent organisation of actors, locations, costumes or props.
You need to post a schedule of your filming and also the deadlines that you set for your Digi pac, poster or website designs and finished peices.
When you do film something mention on your blog that you have been filming, get a few digital photos from behind the scenes and include a list showing props and actors etc... and put the storyboard up of the bit you were filming.

There is excellent work on shotlists, layouts, drafting, scripting or storyboarding.
this will partly be covered by my suggestions above, just ensure you script and plan everything and put it on the blog, if you have drafted something put a few words down on how it will appeal to your audience.

Time management is excellent.
If you have done the stuff above already then you will have shown this!

There is an excellent level of care in the presentation of the research and planning.
this one is obvious, make your work look good, annotate rough drafts to explain what they show and your intentions, be professional.

There is excellent skill in the use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation.
To evidence this get screen grabs showing you using photoshop etc.., and explain the stages you go through. this doesn't have to be a step by step guide to what you did, just explain the main design choices and why you made them (your reason should pretty much always link to your target audience)

There are excellent communication skills.
this goes without saying, no text speak! and explain things clearly and in detail.

Todays tasks

• If not all ready done get your blog set up and the address sent to me.

• Draft out on paper rough designs for either your band website, Digi pac or poster. 3 designs for each should be enough. (I know I keep saying this but mention potential audience and use key media terms and theories, the uses and gratifications model is always good)
  
• Evaluate your designs and choose the ones which you will take forward to a finished peice.
